What Is The Reason Why Article Directory Service Need To Know Where You Live?

Friday, July 30th, 2010

Webmasters online use an article directory service to gain both an increase in visitors and free backlinks for their website or blog. Marketers are likely to sign up for a bunch. But I have noticed that most article directories will let you submit articles with just a user name and password while others want to know where you live. So I was curious to know why would an article directory need your residency? What do they need it for?

Well some article directories will send you cheap things from time to time like glasses, hats and notepads with their company name on it. Are you going to use any of that stuff? No way.

I could see if the article directory were going to buy your article by check then it would make sense. But I do not know of any article directories that pays.

Then there are directories that sell your address to marketers that will send you junk mail and stuff. Have you registered for a bunch of article directories and noticed an increase in junk mail? That is probably how you you got it.

They surely not coming over your home to visit you. Eat dinner and be your friend and keep you company. So why do they need your address? Who really knows the answer but I would not give up my home address until I inspected carefully.

They are an article directory service and they should ask for fresh articles and not your address. The deal is that writers give you content and in return you get backlinks to your page and some new visitors. Where that person live should not matter. If they were not satisfied with your article then they can easily reject it and they do not need your address to do that. They are not going to call the article cops to my home right?

So the next time your thinking about creating an account for another article directory service that wants your home address just do a little research on them first. See what could go wrong before you give up your residency.

Do you want to use a free article directory that does not ask for your address or require you to sign up as a member? Then see more about it here at free article directory. Or go directly to it by going to free article submission and get started. For other directories see free website directories.

New Media Helping Writers Get Published
By Matt Fleming

Stay at home mums, teenagers, lazy people and even children are finding it easier and easier to get published these days. But why? What can they do now that they couldn’t before? The answer… The Internet. The Internet has provided EVERYONE with the tools, knowledge and connections needed to become published writers or artists or what ever it is they are trying to get published in. there are many sites that provide a writing community were writers can show their work and publishers can read it and decide “That’s pretty good” and then publish it. Some sites like Writing.com and webook.com are probably the most used. They allow you to show your work, then people can read it and back it for publication and than someone can choose to publish it. It’s really just a community and talent scouts pick off all the good bits and get them published. How ever there are other sites like The World’s Longest Book that offer both a community and a 100% chance of getting published. The World’s Longest Book is a site dedicated to creating a book over 344mm thick. You can submit not only writing, but pictures and drawings and photographs, really anything that could go into a book. The site has an active community and is updated regularly. No robots run the site and everything is over seen by at least three real people. The World’s Longest Book only publishes your work under your name so, sorry, but you don’t get payed. They will however give you royalties if you submit enough pages to the book.

Regardless of age, gender, race, religion or education the Internet can almost defiantly get you published in some way shape or form. As long as you have a passion and continue to do what you love, you will almost defiantly get published. Sometimes it doesn’t even cost you to get something published! In the old days you had to pay for an editor, publicist, graphic designer and then the rights to be published under the name of your publisher (Puffin, Scholastic, Collins) and than if your book doesn’t sell… you loose money you didn’t have in the first place. On the Net though people go looking for talent and when they find it they want to themselves so the pay for all that for you, or, they sponsor you so now you have money to pay for all of that.

All in all if you have talent, don’t stress. If you don’t have time to write lots then click here, and if you don’t have talent then write lots and lots until you build up confidence and join a writing community (Click either of the two links previous in this article)

Happy Publishing!
